On Tuesday, February 7th, Dancehall music artists Movado and Mr. Lexx’s court cases were both delayed. They both appeared before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court on separate charges. Movado faced charges on July 22nd of last year around 7:00pm that the complainant was riding in a Toyota Camry with his son along the Belmont road to traffic where the road was dug up. He pulled off the road, and Movado (David Brooks) drove up in a black Range Rover vehicle and told the complainant to move. The complainant refused to move as the side of the road was filled with stones making it hard to drive over. Movado then used the wheel of his Range Rover to squeeze through the area and ended up squeezing the complainant in the process which caused swelling to his foot and shoulders along with cuts and scrapes. Movado also had slapped the complainant in the face and kicked him in the groin. Movado was charged with malicious assault and destruction of property.
Movado, real name David Brooks had his case delayed until March 7th. His main lawyer Christian Taveres-Dinson was unable to attend, and another attorney Martyn Thomas was there in his place. He asked for a new date so that Brooks’ main attorney will be present for that new date.
Mr. Lexx (real name Christopher Palmer) who has had a longtime feud with Bounty Killer, pleaded not guilty to the court about his possession of ganja (marijuana) that was found in his hotel room. His case will be heard on April 19th.
