The news pipeline has exploded with lots of reggae news for the last several weeks.  Surprising news that yesterday, December 29, 2011, Hassidic Jewish reggae singer Matisyahu reportedly kicked a photographer in the face during a concert. He allegedly broke her camera's flash in the altercation.  Matisyahu was performing at a festival in the Brooklyn area.  This was one of Matisyahu's first shows since he shaved off his trademarked beard.  He shaved off his beard    He said that he snapped when he saw the photographer.  Matisyahu shaved his head and cut off his beard as a way of personal rebirth and religious reasons. He posted a picture of the makeover on Twitter but has been refusing to discuss why he made such a drastic change and his reasoning behind it.

Reggae singer Luciano is denying reports that on Christmas Eve he was attacked with empty bottles at a concert in Nigeria.  The reports have been saying that the singer was pelted with empty water bottles by concert goers who were in attendance of the 2011 Rivers State Carnival at the Liberation Stadium which is also popularly known as CARNIRIV. 

One of Luciano's representatives claimed there were some children who were a part of throwing items on stage such as throwing cups on stage.  The singer abruptly broke his performance to talk with the children who were throwing cups on stage and afterward he continued his set and sang his popular song, One Way Ticket to Africa," to help make the crowd happy.  Unfortunately despite Luciano's efforts to calm the crowds, they continued throw object at him.  He left the stage after the incident.  Nigeria twin artists P-Square came on after him were welcomed with applause.
